HELLCAT STRUCTURE

F architecture is the last analogue vehicular chassis and powertrain mounting system design.  This brings fitting closure to the world of design from drafting table to blueprint to manual machine and weld shop to series built production, given the engine specification was the Glen Curtiss 100 year old radial twin derived from the earliest days of American aeronautical engineering.

We began in 1991.  We refused to consider a traditional derivative solution.  Our primary goal was to provide world leading structural torsion and bend rigidity.  Absolute fatigue resistance was mandated.  The engine shaft relative to the output shaft relative to the swingarm pivot axle would be designed in a manner where no matter how abrupt or how great the torque, a linear, accurate parallel relationship among each point would be assured.  The steering neck, irrespective of speed, lean angle or roughness of pavement, would not vary in its perfect perpendcularity relative to the swingarm pivot point.  This goal was exacerbated by the non unit engine construction of our specified radial twin.

Following our boundaries illuminated by our vision
iron laws” and our declaration of core values, we came up with a simple elegant solution.  We moved the output shaft to the right side, rotated our transmission forward as much as possible, specified the highest tensil strength steel possible in the largest diameter possible, utilized a dual wide tubular based proprietary chassis with a large 1 by 2 strut for unitizing in the most robust manner the engine, transmission and frame, specification of aircraft grade billet machined proprietary powertrain mounting system components, specified an inner primary and transmission output side mounting system for full integration of the powertrain with the chassis as one unit, specification of the core connection and unitization of the chassis with the powertrain at the swingarm pivot point through specification of a dual threaded axle which threads into a steel insert in the machined inner primary and is torqued down on the oil output shaft side connecting the outer pear shaped bearing carrier subsystem with dual locking nuts at the right side swingarm pivot point.  The output shaft is connected at its outmost point with a huge output shaft bearing which ties directly to the swingarm pivot point to assure zero shaft to shaft flex.

There is no welded steel system for mounting the world’s most desirable motorcycle engine to date which compares to our design.  It is not surprising that the US Patent and Trademark office agreed with this conclusion when we were awarded engineering patent number 005857538A for having created a superior home for our beloved radial twin in terms of chassis and powertrain structural integrity, bend rigidity and torsion rigidity. 

An added bonus of our deeply considered design is the effect our enhanced structure and large-scale tubular frame has on primary and secondary engine vibration.  The F131 is an amazingly smooth machine given its 45° cylinder angle, huge scale and enormous torque.  The overall sensation is of riding a machine literally carved from granite.  The quality is immediately apparent.  The power is intoxicatingly immense.

 

WRAITH STRUCTURE

Our second architectural expression, code 'B', was created with the highest and best technology.

We chose greater luxury, much lighter weight, and higher lean angles, superior front-to-rear weight distribution and a greatly reduced center of gravity as engineering benchmarks.

We chose to leverage our main machine interface to provide increased control and enhanced long-term back and neck comfort.

We chose to increase our aesthetic design connection with the radial design rollerbearing crankshift of our engine.

We chose to heighten your engagement with 'B' architecture through a furtherance of the evolution of our skeletal-minimalism ideal.

The carbon fiber monocoque chassis design reduces overall chassis weight to its lightest, relative to our internal mandate that structural torsion and band rigidity must be world-leading and resistance to fatigue must be absolute.

The unique aircraft inspired lightweight all machined from billet aluminum bulkhead / fuselage triple load path design 'B' architecture is redundant in the extreme. We have taken our benchmark term, overbuild, to the next level.

Our new double wishbone front suspension is crafted from carbon fiber in the form of two extremely aerodynamic beautifuly scuplted wing blades. We have created the smoothest most controlled ride while eliminating stiction and bump steer. Our design allows significant mass to be shifted forward, improving high speed cornering through increased traction being carried on the sticky front tire. The result is world leading linearity, accuracy, and multi sensory quality of information in the palm of your hand.

Suspension travel has been increased; unsprung weight has been reduced. The result is improved handling response and the smoothest riding motorcycle on the planet.

The addition of counterbalancing to our 45 DEGREE radial twin eliminates vibration by making the powerplant think it's a 90 DEGREE V. Unwanted vibration is gone; the desired 45 DEGREE rollerbearing sound and pulse remains.

The ride is a perfect blend of the highest real world sporting capability with the luxury of the most advanced and smoothest long-travel lightest weight suspension, comfortable ergonomics and the use of the finest technologies, materials and components which the world has to offer.
